Per-video analytics

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way I can get analytics on a per video basis, instead of account basis. Is that possible? If not, is that is that  something you will have in the near future?

Thanks,

- Gael

Re: Per-video analytics

Hi Gael,

Currently, Pro and Enterprise publishers have access to player-level data in addition to the aggregate, account-level data within the Analytics module. We will be adding support for video-level reports to the Analytics module in the near future, but this will likely only be available to Pro and Enterprise publishers.

Having said this, publishers at all levels can see the number of Views and Viewed Minutes per video in the top section of the Video Engagement report in the Analytics module. While this won't show the data per day, it does provide insight into the relative performance of individual videos within the selected date range.

Hope that helps,

Travis

Re: Per-video analytics

Just wanted to pass on my desire to have the ability to see views per day per video over a month, year, etc. as part of the Brightcove analytics.

You can't get the views per day for each video, but you can get the number of views for each of your videos for any time period you specify if you have a Pro or Enterprise account.  You choose the time period and the columns you get in the report are ID, Video Name, Views, Viewed Minutes, Percentage to 50% Mark, Percentage to 75% Mark and Percentage of Complete Views.

It's not very intuitive, but here's what to do:

1. Click on the Analytics tab.

2. Display reports for: Players

3. In the left column, under Engagement, click on Video Engagement.

4. Select a timespan from the top right drop down. Choose "Custom" if you want a specific time period.

5. Click the down arrow next to Export in the upper right corner.

6. Save the export as a csv and open it in Excel.

7. Repeat these steps if you have more than 100 players. You will need to choose another set from the menu next to "Display:" and combine the resulting reports in Excel. I have 336 players, so I had to combine 4 reports. (1-100, 101-200, 201-300, and 301-336)

Thanks for the post, video engagement can give you the views per video.

But what I want is to be able to look at a single video and see it charted over a period of time.

It seems to me that the infomation is there - I can certainly pick any single day and see how many views my video had - you just can't break out that information over a time period.

Re: Per-video analytics

Hi Gordon,

The ability to view trending data for individual videos is offered to our Professional and Enterprise customers, along with the ability to compare data for multiple players or videos. The following support documents describe the functionality:

Selecting player reports or video reports

Selecting multiple players or videos for comparison

Re: Per-video analytics

In previous versions, we were able to see individual video plays for all of  videos over a given timeframe. In otherwords, I could select traffic dates, and find the number of plays on a per video level for all videos over that timeframe. I see where I can individually select upto 4 videos to compare but find where to seclect all.

I can't seem to figure out how to get that info with the current version, am I missing something?

Re: Per-video analytics

Hi Mike,

I'm wondering if the 'Reports' section (linked from the Video Cloud Home Page) provides you the Video-level reporting statistics you are looking for? This section is our main source of Reporting for your content  (as opposed to the Analytics Modules which provides more information on *how* the content was viewed) and contains video-level statistics such as 'Total # of Plays, Total # of MB Downloaded, # of Minutes, Publish Date, and Title State for any given report date.

Please note that the initial Report will only show up to 10 Videos, however, Downloading the Full Report will provide a CSV file that can be opened in Excel and will contain your full list of Videos.

Hope this helps!

Thank You,

-Mikey
