I would like to have the ability to restrict a video so that it will only play on a certain player.
It would be nice to make it so a video will not show up in "Related Videos", "Most Viewed", etc.
Is this possible now?

We do not have an out-of-the-box UI control for this type of exclusion. It is something we have been considering, so it is great to know this would be helpful to you.
We do have a Player API that gives you ultimate control over what videos you can present. So if you are interested you could specialize the videos that are presented with a little customer development.

I'm just going to add my voice that this would be really helpful. it could be this "by player" restriction for videos or at least a way to exclude videos from being shown in "Related Videos" screens. Kind of an opt-out for the related videos. I think that might accomplish a lot of what the restrictions by player would be used for.

Thank you for your feedback! Your vote has been recorded! I agree that having some sort of private flag would be useful. When we have more details on rolling out this sort of enhancement we'll provide an update to the forum!

The most flexible option might be to allow a playlist to be attached to the player, and for related video to be drawn at random from this playlist. That way we can build a smart playlist from a set of tags and restrict related content to that list.

Ditto for our organisation. This is a much needed feature.

Yes - this is an important fix for us. Not being able to do control which videos appear in the related list actually makes the function useless to a lot of Brightcove users. Basing the list on a playlist or on tabs would be good.

Any update on this possible feature? Its been close to a year since the first post was recorded and this seems pretty important to. We are about to try and implement our solution with a custon field, but it is not ideal and would prefer to not have to redo all of our setup.
Thanks.

This is a feature that we're considering but have not yet scheduled the work. Once we know the scopeand schedule of the work, we will communicate its projected release. Thanks for your input on this. It looks like it's been discussed for a while and there's an interest in getting this done.
